Accommodation
Accommodation Services is a part of the GSG and provides accommodation, security and facilities services to Victorian Government departments.
Business objectives
GSG provides leadership and enabling services through the provision and management of Victorian Government office accommodation. We lead on environmental initiatives and government office space strategies, and provide guidelines and standards on government accommodation. GSG is committed to continuous improvement in the accommodation space and providing flexible, cost effective office accommodation to support efficient delivery of government services.
Initiatives and strategy
Environmentally sustainable initiatives
GSG is currently engaged in projects designed to reduce the environmental impact of government buildings. Specific projects include:
- the implementation of an Energy Performance Contract project designed to significantly reduce energy and water consumption of sixteen government-owned buildings;
- water conservation and metering projects at government owned buildings; and
- environmentally sustainable office fit-outs.
Victorian Government office long term accommodation strategy
GSG is exploring options for the long term accommodation of government staff in Victoria. The strategy encompasses all aspects of accommodation including the location of offices in the CBD, suburbs and outer regions of Victoria, office design, workspace ratio and more.
Shared services for facilities and accommodation
The Victorian Government committed to a government-wide approach to shared services as part of the
Efficient Government policy. Under this policy, GSG is looking at the efficient delivery of facilities and accommodation services across government departments.
