Services to Government

The Government Services Group (GSG) assists the whole of the Victorian Government through strategy and management of government services.

The Land and Property group within DTF's Commercial Division provides State government departments with expertise in the areas of property sales, acquistions and advisory services.

Efficient Government

The Victorian Government is committed to keeping its corporate services cost efficient.

The Government Service Group is enabling this by identifying duplication, bringing together common corporate services, developing shared contracts to increase government’s buying power and introducing cost-saving technologies. By improving the way government delivers corporate services and making them more efficient, funds can be redirected to frontline services such as hospitals, schools and community safety.

GSG Efficient Government initiatives for 2008-09 include:
  • establishing a new shared library service for government departments and agencies;
  • consolidating Victorian Government car pools;
  • establishing a shared facilities management service for Victorian Government accommodation; and
  • development work towards one IT service for government by standardising core ICT services across government.
