Options for Managing Transport Congestion
In September 2006, the VCEC presented its final report, Making the Right Choices: Options for Managing Transport, to the Government. The report demonstrates the extent of the challenge in dealing with urban transport congestion and identifies a range of operational and strategic options to address these problems. While acknowledging the effectiveness of past and ongoing actions by Government, the VCEC has presented 58 options which, in its view, would lead to improved management of transport congestion. The Government has carefully considered each of these options and has agreed in full or in part to 52 of the 58 options. This document details how the Government intends to respond to each of the options.
