Investment Managment: The cost of accreditation

IMS training and accreditation

The success of the Investment Management standard is dependant on the successful outcome of one or a series of structured and facilitated 'intelligent discussions.' A key to the success of these discussions is the role and capability of skilled facilitators to direct the discussion and document the agreed investment story.

As such, in 2006 DTF established a system of facilitator training and accreditation.

Pricing structure for training and accreditation as of Tuesday 1 September 2009

The skills transfer process in investment management has two stages that have costs associated with them:
  • Facilitator Training as part of the skills transfer program; and
  • Quality Assurance as part of the facilitator accreditation process.

Facilitation training

The costs for these services are:
VPS$0.00
Consultants $200.00

Note: Facilitator training is recommended but not mandatory for accreditation

Details of the training program can be found at the Skills Transfer Program section of this website.

Quality assurance

The costs for these services are $375 each
A minimum of three ILMs are required for accreditation; however, the average is five reviews before accreditation is awarded. Thus the costs for the quality assurance for accreditation are:
1 review =$375
2 reviews =$750
3 reviews =$1,125
4 reviews =$1,500
5 reviews =$1,875

Note: Quality assurance is compulsory for accreditation.

Potential facilitators are required to submit work for quality assurance to demonstrate their Investment Management skills. Facilitators are then provided with written and verbal feedback aimed at improving the quality of their work.
  • QA Services are performed on behalf of DTF by Group.Joy. Pty Ltd.
  • Group.Joy have committed to a deed of confidentiality and have no conflict of interest for reviewing.
  • The cost of having a QA review will be $375.00 as of Tuesday 1 September 2009.
  • This will be paid directly to Group.Joy. Pty Ltd.
Details of the accreditation process can be found in the facilitator accreditation documentation.
