International Financial Reporting Standards

Australia is adopting International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) for reporting periods commencing on or after 1 January 2005. DTF has responsibility for co-ordination of the implementation of the new accounting standards in the Victorian Public Service.

The Victorian public sector adopted the Australian equivalents to International Financial Reporting Standards (A-IFRS) for reporting periods commencing on or after the 1 January 2005.

The first financial report published under A-IFRS was the Victorian Budget 2005-06 released in May 2005.

Further information for Victorian Government agencies

Further information about A-IFRS adoption is available through the Budget and Financial Management website, available on the Victorian Government network. Victorian Government agencies outside the network can contact information@dtf.vic.gov.au for assistance accessing this website.
